Do people ever get framed anymore? Or if they do it is not known and they are in prison innocent?

Yes people do get framed. Law enforcement
Use that tactic on citizens that get in trouble and convince them that if they
Ware a wire on other people, things will be better for them. Framed=people putting other people in jail for the police.

This usually happens in cases where there was no crime at all, just false accusations.

Kathryn Johnston: A Year Later
92-year-old woman's death has done little to curb the use of paramilitary police tactics around the country.

They had earlier arrested a man with a long rap sheet on drug charges. That man told the police officers that they'd find a large stash of cocaine in Johnston's home. When police forced their way into Johnston's home, she met them holding a rusty old revolver, fearing she was about to be robbed. The police opened fire, and killed her.

Shortly after the shooting, the police alleged that they had paid an informant to buy drugs from Ms. Johnston's home. They said she fired at them first, and wounded two officers. And they alleged they found marijuana in her home.

We now know that these were all lies. In fact, everything about the Kathryn Johnston murder was corrupt. The initial arrest of the ex-con came via trumped-up charges. The police then invented an informant for the search warrant, and lied about overseeing a drug buy from Johnston's home.

Ms. Johnston didn't actually wound any of the officers. They were wounded by fragments of ricochet from their own storm of bullets. And there was no marijuana. Once they realized their mistake, the officers handcuffed Ms. Johnston and left her to bleed and die on the floor of her own home while they planted marijuana in her basement.

Rubin Carter
In 1966, at the height of his boxing career, Carter was twice wrongfully convicted of a triple murder and imprisoned for nearly two decades. During the mid-1970s, his case became a cause celébrè for a number of civil rights leaders, politicians and entertainers. He was ultimately exonerated in 1985.

Dewey Bozella
Lawyers at WilmerHale discovered new evidence that had been suppressed by prosecutors showing Bozella was in fact innocent and had been framed.

Even if it happened longer than 15 yrs ago that goes to show if it's happening now the story could take years to be told.

A television actress and mother of five framed her husband in a plot that could have come out of a poorly scripted drama.

During his 19 years in prison, Barry Gibbs had several chances to be released from prison on parole.
In 2005, Gibbs walked free from prison after it was discovered that Gibbs was set up by Louis J. Eppolito, a detective who moonlighted as a mob hit man. Eppolito coerced a witness in Gibbs' case into lying.

Rather than face the possibility of 41 years in prison, Banks admitted to the crime and received a five-year sentence, which he served, and had to register as a sex offender. During that time, Gibson successfully sued Long Beach Unified School District for failing to provide a safe environment and won a $1.5 million settlement.
After Banks left prison, he was contacted out of the blue by Gibson on Facebook. Gibson admitted her guilt over fabricating the crime to Banks in person.
