Does this work to protect privacy on facebook?
I've been seeing this post spreading across social network sites, apparently originating from a new york news outlet, it is a copy paste that is supposed to be posted on your facebook account or other social network sites ;
News was just talking about this change in Facebook's privacy policy. Better safe than sorry. As of October 15, 2013 at 7:45 pm Eastern standard time, I do not give Facebook or any entities associated with Facebook permission to use my pictures, information, or posts, both past and future. By this statement, I give notice to Facebook it is strictly forbidden to disclose, copy, distribute, or take any other action against me based on this profile and/or its contents. The content of this profile is private and confidential information. The violation of privacy can be punished by law (UCC 1-308- 1 1 308-103 and the Rome Statute). NOTE: Facebook is now a public entity. All members must post a note like this. If you prefer, you can copy and paste this version. If you do not publish a statement at least once it will be tactically allowing the use of your photos, as well as the information contained in the profile status updates. DO NOT SHARE. You MUST copy and Paste

A simple facebook user cannot put up a disclaimer over facebook policies, period. They think they can. If they tried to go to court they would lose, and badly.

When you sign up with facebook, you agree to their terms of service and policies whether you've read them or not. One of them states that if your profile is public - then anyone can use the pictures/content. If someone makes their profile private after being public - anything that was on the public profile is fair game. Facebook also doesn't control anything that winds up on the web as a result of the public profile.

If folks don't want it stolen, don't put it on the web. This is simple stuff.

Not even a little bit.

When you sign up for Facebook and use their services, you agree to their policies. You can't continue to use their services and state that you will not abide by their policies.

NO!!!

You can't change the terms of service if you want to use facebook you have to follow their rules THE END! If you want your privacy protected then start up your own social networking website then you can make the rules. Facebook isn't interested in users they can't exploit they have to make money somehow.

This sounds like one of those make-believe email chains that spreads. You might try looking it up on Snopes (see link below).

You agree to certain terms and conditions when you sign up for Facebook. If you don't like them, you don't have to use the service. The information you're referring to is a hoax.
