How to be successful in college?
How can you be at the top of your class in university.

I'm going for petroleum engineering, and I really want to be the best at what I do and when I say it I mean it. I really loved that major, and I'm feeling very enthusiastic about it.

what do you think are the right techniques and studying habits that will get you to the top?

I was never at the top of my class in high school because I didn't put hard work into it. I used to not study that much, but I payed attention in class so much so I got in the top 6 of my class with a gpa of 3.8.
My question is: How can you be AT THE TOP? Like number one in your class?

Hello
Nothing will be achieved by just hoping! please take action and start. Start with small things and try to make them as your second nature! your habit!
some of what I suggest to you and myself seems easy but I think they will improve our learning procedure. I am sure that you know them better than me, but I just give myself the chance to review them to remind myself:
1- Never ever check your Email while studying. I personally believe it will wipe out at least half of your effort immediately. being a multi-task student means saying a loud goodbye to your ambitions. So please choose now! Do you want to be aware of every single event around yourself such as new updates in youtube, facebook, emails and so on or you want to be a successful student. We need to bear in mind NO PAIN, NO GAIN......
2- Please deactivate your facebook and other profiles. They kill your time and finally you end up depressed. Why Don't we enrich our real word interaction to become healthier. Ok! just know please search the effect of facebook on our well-being in google scholar to see the newest research. You know these kind of virtual interaction causes a lot of bad feeling and more than feeling guilty to losing our most productive time, our youth.
3- Stop seeking approval, our goal shuld be learning for the sake of learning not to be a student who is better than other students. We just need to try to compete with ourselves to discover our talents more and more. This kind of aim can double our productivity.
4- write down your tomorrow action plan just before sleeping. Your subconscious mind will double your productivity with its subliminal messages during the night.
5- wake up with pure faith in your heart. Say thank you to God who create you and who see you all the time, who is the kindest and who is your best friend. ask him to help you during the day and promise him to apply your knowledge for his sake. Smile to your parents while speaking with them, they are the kindest creature that God creates.Their prayers will open a lot of doors for you immediately. Be thankful, Be kind and help others.
6- read the latest papers in your major even if your professors do not offer you. Never completely depend on the sources that your professors offer to you. Please have a greedy attitude and want to learn more and more.
7- please read some motivational materials. I personally really become fresh and energetic when I watch"Nouman Ali khan" videos in YouTube. I consider him as a pure person who tries to help people to find their purpose in their life. He has some fascinating videos about time management which I really love.
8- Never underestimate your brain power. We are wonderful creature. Scientists and well-known people are human being as well and they have the same amount of time as we have but they just manage themselves, lead themselves, discipline themselves, and know the value of their time and respect it.
What I mention here is a kind of reminder for myself, to respect my single minutes of youth more and more.
My English is not good and I hope to improve it. So I would be really grateful if you correct my mistakes.
Hope to enjoy your youth and find your real purpose in life
Smile
