I suggest you research Raw Feeding and the Raw Diet before you venture into applying it to your dogs diet.

There is a lot of happy go lucky hoopla about the raw diet being the mega diet for dogs and it is, but there are also serious implications and risks associated with feeding your dogs raw meat and you need to be sure to understand this and learn what's good and what's not.

A good raw diet starts with chicken only, but builds once their stomach acids can cope with it to as many different animals and as many different cuts as possible... with the ratio of about 80% meat, 10% bone, 10% offal. Fish and eggs are also eaten.

Plenty online with websites, forums, facebook and yahoo groups.

Here's a site I like also, and this vet has a facebook page as well.

Here's a yahoo group as well..

This is a UK based facebook group but you are bound to find something for your own country.

There are lots of other websites and a quick google will find them.

I have raw fed for years and wouldn't do anything else.

If you don't know how to feed a raw diet then stick with a 5* pre-made raw dog food.

Two of the more affordable options are:

Natures Variety Instinct

Around $25-30 per 6lbs

or
Bravo
http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-r...-dog-food/
Also around $25-30 per 6lbs.

You'll need to feed about 2-3% of the dogs weight per day so...
At about $4 per pound it will cost you roughly $40-$50/week or about $200/month or so to feed a 50lbs dog. It may cost more or less depending on what kind of deal you can make with the shop owner you buy it from. If you buy in bulk you should be able to get a discount. Other brands like Stella & Chewys or Primal which are considered ultra high quality would cost $300/month or more for a 50lb dog.

Yes it's an expensive way to feed your dog and making your own is less expensive but you need to do THOROUGH research before home-making your dogs food. There are a LOT of resources online for you to look into. Look for raw feeding websites and tutorials and read everything you can.
