Assigning a new admin to Facebook group?

My fellow high school alums have an active Facebook group. We recently had to report the group admin to Facebook as a registered sex offender. He was the only admin to the group and now he's off Facebook. Is there a way to assign a new admin to this group without having a current admin?

no you cant because they only had the authority to modify the group now since the admin is removed the group will get deleted within few months

The easiest way would be to create a new group.
