What are some things an eleven year old can do?
Hi. My eleven year old daughter has an interest of working. Of course I am going to support her!
She has no idea what she can do. She doesn't want to HAVE the money, she wants to DONATE it to the SPCA. She is doing that because she is earning a gold medal with her Girl Scout troop by doing lots of community projects for the SPCA.

What are some fun things she can do? She asked me to post a question. I already gave her some suggestions, but she said that she is going to do them with her troop and was debating with me.

Volunteering, it looks good on college applications.

You can bake cookies, make jam, cake, tarts but if she's not interested in cooking then she could make something crafty like a card (there's plenty of card magazines out there), origami, decorate a used jam jar to sell for decorations.. she can mow the lawn or do some gardening if she's up for it but its hard work.

send my congrats to your child for being so unselfish for such a young age. if we get more children like that instead of just watching tv or play video games then the world would truly be a better place.

hope this helps.

Can she walk the SPCA's dogs or help out there? My sister in law worked there for years and loved it. If not, mow lawns, do yardwork, deliver newspapers, garage sales of baked stuff or homemade crafts, etc. Find something she enjoys and go from there. I've included a link with a few ideas Smile And congrats on having such an ambitious daughter, I'm proud of her too!

Well that is SO sweet of her. Good for her. More and more people will be happy when they see this I bet =)

How about a car wash? It's summer, it's hot, it's a perfect timing! You have said in previous questions and answers that you live in a HUGE neighborhood. Advertise.

Maybe a bake sale? Bake all the good things there is and then sell it at a busy place. Advertise.

I found this answer in a previous question: Snow Cones! Except you should have cheeper prices.
25 cents for a small, 50 cents for a medium, $1 for a large.

Lemonade Stand! 25 cents can get you somewhere. If you have left over snow cones and stuff from the bake sale, feel free to sell it there too!

Babysitter. Have an older one who babysits? Take her along and that can make a lot of $$$$!

Dog Walker. Walk dogs all over the neighborhood $1 per dog, per walk.

Dog Sit. Dog sit some dogs. Take care of them too. $5 a day for their servings, bath's, walks and different needs all together.

Stable. Is their horse barns near you? Maybe she can work in the stable! Perfect job! Good payment.

Gardening. I am sure since you live in a BIG neighborhood, you have some elderly needed of a taken care lawn. Gardening, mowing, and all. But don't charge!

Those rubber wristbands. If you can- start a facebook group advertising those bracelets. Order some and let it say SPCA- GIVE IT SOME HOPE or something like that. Each one should be $5 and tell people to keep inviting on facebook and buying. This can help a WHOLE lot.

Rake Leaves. It is awesome. Older people are lazy to do it, so they hire the ones with the energy- kids. I think if you take leaves off the driveways- you might get bonus $$$. Buy a broom for the driveway and a rake for the driveway.

Shovel driveway. I realise it's summer- but if you are still doing it later this year- do it. Good investment if you live in a snowy area.

Dog Treats. Find some dog treats. Make them. Sell them. 50 cents per treat.

Blog. Some blog's pay you to write stories. Not that much. But some. She can blog everyday, and that might put some money in. Right?

Paper routes. Deliver papers, socialise and get exercise from walking around.

Find sponsers. Go to homes and ask them for checks and all for the SPCA. As much as possible.

Go door to door and ask if they have unwanted things. Tell them you are going to do a Garage Sale and all the money goes to the SPCA.

Have a Pizza fundraiser with the girl scout troop. Make Pizzas, sell them and yeah.

If you know a famous person or a somebody that does, or a performer atleast, you should ask him/her to perform a few songs and promote the fundraiser. $5 a ticket, $1 per thing at the food and drink bar, and a lot of people = jack pot!!

Good luck to your daughter. She has an awesome attitude about this!
