do you think all social networking apps should be free?
e..g facebook n twitter have free social networking apps for smartphones.
if you were to make a social networking website..would you follow the same route? free apps for everyone? or would you charge like 99 cents? keep in mind...you wouldnt have funding..so it would be a good way to recover the money you put in to the website and makin the app itself. is it better to gain users.....or to gain 99 cents? obviously less people would get the app if it costs money. what do you think is more important for a startup? people? or money? People. More people will increase the revenue with adverts, marketing etc. Also, it will act as a spiderweb, more people hearing about it... branching out further and faster.

I would say free but maybe move it up to 99 cents. it depends like i wouldn't get facebook app if it cost but its free so i did. also eventually if you go for free you would get more popularity and maybe even put adds on the site which more people would see if it was free but you would make money through the ads.

You are assuming that only the "home" company would create apps for that social network.
BAD IDEA. There's already a dozen Android apps for Twitter NOT from Twitter, and at least four that I remember for Facebook. Those developers need to get paid. --- Kasey C, PC guru since Apple II days Who does an atheist thank when he feels grateful? |

That's up to the person who writes the app. Should the results of all your work be free? The only place I "work" for free is here. If I do this in the office, I expect to get paid. If I write a social networking app, I expect to get paid for that too. But if you believe in free labor, I have a few places I could use you.
