What is a good way to start a trail riding club?
I'm moving to a different state and I don't know anyone. I thought maybe there would be a riding club type thing because it's such a large horse area but I can't seem to find anything. I'm not looking for profit just a group of people who enjoy riding to get out and ride when they can. I was thinking maybe a facebook group? But then again I don't know anyone yet so I don't know how I'd get people to join. What are some good ideas to start a riding group/club?

You could always do the facebook group and see if it's possible to just invite a mass group of people from the area?

Meetup.com
go to the local tack shop that has a bulletin board and post a flyer barn flyers If you do Facebook, you join the clubs that are already there and state what your point of joining is. |

One more thing you can try is check out if your new state has a state "Horse Council" organization. You should be able to find them online.
In our state the members help maintain the trails at all of the State & National Parks/Forests and have trail rides and other events announced on the website. You don't have to become a member as they announce most of the horse events going on in the state. |

First, look around when you get there. There could be any number of local groups. If not, you and your new friends go for a trail ride. Then you set it up again. That is how they start. More people get invited and someday, maybe, it is a huge event.
All you have to do is go out and have fun. |
