Get the Instagram app (like on a phone/iPad/whatever),
Create an account,
Click the middle button at the bottom of the screen (it looks like a camera),
Either click the button on the right and pick a picture to post or press the camera button again to take a picture,
And that's it !
(Unless you meant a word post to your general page, in which case the only way to do that would be too type your message out somewhere, then screenshot it and post that like you would any other picture.)

you post with the middle button and dont forget the use hashtags this site can be useful http://www.tagsforhearts.com , do not forget max 30 tags and dont tag too many photos at ones
