Why is it dangerous to post travel plans on Facebook.?
I understand that it's potentially dangerous due to robbers looking out for them. But what if I just post to "Friends" instead of the public.. Wouldn't that just solve the whole problem? If not, what are some tips?

It's not. Just be sure to publish your home address and leave a key under the mat as well.

It's a bit confusing but sometimes people can hack Facebook's, your friends, your own, etc. It's surprisingly easy to get around certain Facebook rules if one is careful enough. If you're worried just don't post your travel plans and instead maybe just text your closest friends about the fun time you're having?

if you post it to friends, it appears on their page. They can share it. Biggest tip: if you MUST tell friends you are going on vacation, e-mail them or tell them after. Or in person. If you post it on social media, there are NO guarantees of privacy.
