yes it can contain spy ware, but there are none reported so far.. so its still safe ...

Never open a link that says something like "Hey don't you think I look great in this photo"

Its a virus. And I've had them on MSN too.

It is definitely safer and more secure than myspace. Because myspace allows users to customize their profile with all sorts of junk like scripts and external pictures , links and stuff while facebook dont. There are no virus threats linked to facebook itself but yes, the advertisement links there can cause virus triggers and other adware programs to get installed so until you are just on the facebook website then its safe.
