why does twitter not give me a notification when i get a direct message?
all it does is send me an email, it doesnt alert me on the site, what can i do about it?

To get notification , you must being follow someone, so you will need to send a follow request , if approve then you will get notification

if you need more help then go to the Twitter Help Center/notification
