But, if your profile is completely private can they still get into you're profile?

If so, I want opinion's on what you think about this

technically they can't. but facebook has been hacked multiple times, thus revealing socalled private pages to hackers.

my advice about facebook (and other similar sites) is that u should treat whatever u post there (even on private pages) as if the entire world could see it.

even if it says so, nothing is EVER private. things can be tracked through the network that you are getting wifi from, and for jobs, there are many ways to see your "private" profile. so dont do anything bad unless you expect it to be found out sooner or later.

social networks are lame..you're better off playing an online game, afterall, the only way to get peoples attention on a website like facebook is to sell yourself to the world like those lame hollywood/bollywood crackheads do. if u want a good rating from a future employer, use facebook to openly expose the effects of malaria in sudan, you'll get these benefits: an impressed employer, self-satisfaction that in this world of mindless drones, u did something that wasnt for yourself and thirdly, ull be educating people(some of whom probably dont even know where sudan is).

PS. dont google your facts, use proper research.
(2) PS. i just gave a suggestion on how to make facebook functional, dont hate if ur a facebook junkie.

My thought on this is make sure you don't post anything on Facebook that you will be ashamed of later or cause you any embarrassment. It could be photos, your posted thoughts at the moment, anything that may be an issue with any institution. There is no such thing is privacy today.

Info in your facebook or myspace is in the public domain. In other words they are not bound by confidentiality laws like some other sites like banks or health care. If you do it right and they can not see your personal info then no they can not see it legally nor could they contact facebook to allow them to see it. This is an example. http://www.collegegrad.com/press/myspace.shtml

We have a first-hand experience of how a candidate's Facebook profile ruined his chances of securing a JobBound internship. Right before we interviewed a recent college graduate, we discovered that one of his interests listed on his profile is " Smokin' blunts with the homies and bustin' caps in whitey" and one of his favorite quotes is "Beware of big butts and a smile." Our "first impression" of our candidate was officially tainted, and he had little hope of regaining a professional image in our eyes. He was not hired.

Be aware if law enforcement asks for permission with the correct paperwork on their side they can look there. Many people have been locked up for certain things posted in their account.
