Facebook scams???? friends-to-friends-only.com?
I know that friends-to-friends-only.com and all of its associated urls and sites are scams..... but i recently was tricked into clicking on a link that looked completely different than that, but lead me to friends-to-friends-only.com ...... I didn't type anything into the fill in areas that they had, but could they still steal my password/other info? Can they only get info if i actually give them it? Or can the site somehow, without me doing anything, just steal my info?

Once again, once i got to the site, i knew it was a fake, so i didn't type anything down.... but could they still have stolen my info and such? Or only if i typed stuff in?

When you click the link there is a hidden hacker download that install spyware on your computer they can track all your passwords and credit info so change all your passwords and such. They can see EVERYTHING you type and every site you visit. Word of advice never click on ads especially if you don't have security or firewalls on your computers.

ugh...please don't listen to allie_04....
What you are dealing with is in no way spyware. To obtain spyware, you actually have to download something yourself and install it. (Spyware is hidden alongside programs that you download and install yourself. For example, some website might offer you a "free game" or something, but when you download and install that game what you don't know is that you're also installing spyware with it.)

What you're dealing with is called phishing and is completely different than spyware...
In order for the "phishers" to obtain anything from you, you have to enter your email and password to Facebook (or MySpace or whichever service you were directed from) into a form on their website.

By moving away from the page you did the right thing. (However, you might want to tell your friends who did get tricked that they can solve the problem simply by changing their Facebook password.) If you suspect a phishing attack, the best way to make sure that you don't get phished is to navigate away by typing a new address into the address bar of your browser (like google.com or facebook.com or whatever).

There are no "secret hacker downloads" or anything. (If they could see every keystroke you made, it wouldn't matter if you changed your password anyway because they would be able to monitor your password change...so changing your password wouldn't solve the issue if there was a "secret hacker download".) However....because you visited the site...Santa Claus, Big Foot, and the Easter Bunny may show up at your house within the next 24 hours....(and if they do show up that's when you'll want to change your password....)
