facebook or friends reunited?

have you had old friends find and contact you through Facebook or Friends re-united?

i had an old friend from over 20 yrs get in touch through firends and a family through Facebook who moved to Australia..so for me both are good...

wierd thing happened. i got married 8 years ago (divorced now) .. and a week ago someone contacted me on friends reunited (i havent used it for about 6 years) saying they knew my mum.
she said she was looking for my mum and wondered if i was her daughter. (she gave neames places, dates etc). when i called my mum she confirmed it... and now they are arranging to meet up. i just thought it was odd coz my surname has changes ... how the hell she know it was me/.

with facebook... friends of friends are linked and can find eachother that way. when u are friends with someone, u can see if you are connected with other frineds they have. then the friends you are connected by will auto generate a list of ppl u may know... ppl click on the pics and then pics of thioer friends, and hay presto! ... you are connected with someone you havent seen for years!

ahhh social networking is a great thing when u think about it.

never bothered personally I prefer to speak to real people not those avatar's who only exist on broad band.
