I'm talking about trademarked names. Nintendo Wii, Facebook, or the name of a video game. Can I use them or would I have to get permission?
For example, a sentence:
"I made a fake Facebook account"

Could I use that?

You don't need anyone's permission to talk about a trademark on a product or service. Just avoid saying or implying anything false about their products or services.

For example, "We hired two former Apple engineers for our iPhone knock-off project. They drank Diet Cokes at McDonald's on the way to the interview."

No trademarks infringed.

And how many modern fictional characters use Google now?
