Bullies, and in particular cyberbullies, are cowards.

Turn off your computer and look around you. You will find nice people who will love you and help you reach your goals in life.

You don't need social networking sites - my three children all shut down their facebook pages at various stages of their lives because they were either being trash talked or they were seeing what someone who hurt them was doing. They concentrated on their hobbies and schoolwork and family and friends they could spend real time with (not computer time) and things worked out.

Good luck to you! Unplug!!!

Hey, I don't want to sound obnoxious, but toughen up. They didn't have cyber bullying when i was a kid, but I got beat up every day. I suspect that's a little....ummm....more damaging. There will always be bullies. You need to learn to face them down, stand up for yourself, and not let them hurt you. All that comes from within. You have to learn to do it yourself. But I know from my own experience that half the time, you can end up friends with these bullies if you push back. They are pushing you because they can. If you hurt them back, fearlessly, they will respect you.

Don't read this to think I'm in favor of bullying. It's a dysfunctional social adaptation to bully people. Unfortunately, it's also pretty common, and an effective way to keep competitors cowed. I can even explain it--it's people with too much anger. They live beyond the threshold of wanting to hurt people to make themselves feel better, if only for a little while. That anger and spitefulness finds its expression in bullying. And other ways--beating your family, racism, etc... But lots of people never learn to deal with anger, and you're going to have to deal with them for the rest of your life.

I don't know how old you are, and if you interact with these people in meatspace, but you might want to try beating one up. I'm serious. People like that frequently only respect violence.

One solution to cyber-bullying is staying off the computer. Obviously you should stay away from any sites where you are experiencing problems. That may be hard, if there are other things about those sites you like, but if you are experiencing severe emotional distress because of bullying, it's more important to stay away than to risk more trouble.

However, if things are that bad, if you are really feeling depressed, you need to discuss what's going on with your parents or another adult you respect. Severe bullying can be investigated and stopped. I urge you to talk to your mother and father, or perhaps to a counselor at your school about what's going on. Do it as soon as possible.

First off, I never understood the concept of "cyber bullying." The fact is in order to be cyber bullied, you have to have account setup that allows others to harass you. That shows massive immaturity on your part to continue such account. Sure, people are mean. This is the internet. People have anonymity and yes people will say rude things from time to time. Fact is you have resources available that blocks these people in most circumstances and to me people who complain about cyber bullying only makes it funnier.
