I know he invented facebook....but how does fb get money if its free? im guessing by doing business deals with phones or something

Advertisements, what facebook pages don't have advertisements. Many companies pay to enhance their pages or just the basic ads on the sides.

And yes deals with phones help. Phone companies know hey will sell more phones by saying it works with scroll and could help pay that way.
