Does using the facebook app take away my phone minutes on my Blackberry?

I just recently got a blackberry and I heard that going on the browser takes away your minutes for your phone so I was wondering if that was the same for using the facebook app? Also, does every app like that take minutes away or is it only the browser?

No, it affects your data usage not the minutes. Minutes are used when actually receiving or placing calls unless you have mobile to mobile within your network.

No, this is somewhat false. The facebook app uses data charges. If you have Verizon, you are probably paying $30 a month extra for data on the Blackberry, and it is unlimited data. If you don't have unlimited data on your plan, make sure you check to see what your limit is. It's doubtful that logging onto facebook app by itself is going to push you over on data, but it makes a difference if you are viewing a ton of videos and whatnot.

No if u have unlimited data it won't affect your minutes so u would be safe.I'm with Sprint and am on my FB all the time on my Berry and it doesn't affect my minutes so u are good
