how do i make a avatar character for my yahoo answer account profile picture?

You can use a photo or a Yahoo! cartoon avatar, and if you have a Facebook or Twitter account, you can also use those avatars.

Go to: http://profile.yahoo.com/y/settings/privacy/ - make sure your profile isn't hidden, because if it is, your avatar won't show.

If you want a cartoon avatar, go here to create one: http://avatars.yahoo.com/ - then click on "Yahoo!" under "Export your Avatar".

In case you want to use a Facebook or Twitter avatar, you need to link those accounts in the Profile options.

You have several options in case you want a photo avatar:
a) go to your Yahoo! Answers settings at http://answers.yahoo.com/my-activity/edit/about , click "Update photo or avatar",
b) go to your Yahoo! Profile at http://profile.yahoo.com/ , click on the current avatar.
Now upload a picture or choose one of the pics you've uploaded previously.

Note: if you are on a mobile, you need to switch to desktop mode first in order for this to work.

At this time you can not make a avatar or upload a picture from a mobile device, perhaps that will change in the future.
For now profile changes must be made from a computer.
Go here , http://profile.yahoo.com top center put the arrow on your avatar or !, click change picture.
From there you can upload a Picture from your computer or import a picture from facebook. When finished click submit on the next page.

You can use twitter, facebook, skype, YouTube even omegle cartoon avatars.
But for YA avatar you go to the hoimepage and find the icon with an avatar face, and that reads "Customize avatar".
Click on that, and it will take you to a page where you can change your avatar.

You get choices between hair/eyes/skin/shirt color, type of shirt, and the size of pants/shirt. also what the shirt/pants says on it. It will come in handy to this saved as favorites in case you want to change it ant any time.
