Passwords on Facebook...?

If I open Facebook first, my email and password are remembered, and I only have to click in the box to bring them up.

BUT!

If I already have a tab open, and pull up Facebook in another tab, my email and passwords are not remembered.
Why is this? And, can I change it?
I am using Firefox, by the way.
I'd like legitimate answers, please. All I got is a couple of immature kids who are playing on their mommy's computer.
