What are the steps to starting an indenting business?

My focus is Pharmaceuticals. I want to know how to think about the details of the startup. My degree is a Bachelor's in science with a major in Biology and I will begin my MBA degree but I want to know how to think about the first few steps. Please give me professional answers only, I would like to hear from someone who has experience in the field.
To tell you a little more, my area of focus is Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) import. I have an idea about business models and I want to know about finding the niche market in the field.

I don't know in which country you are? if you want to start you need to have offers from suppliers and then you can contact customers and after some/ hard negotiations you can finalize deals. I will say start with net (I mean with no profit) so you can sell easily and by this you will easily catch some customers. Try to get six month/ one year import data of your country of Pharmaceutical import by CBR/FBR. By this you will be able to get market review from where material is coming and who is buying, what grade and consumption customers have monthly?

I have been into Textile Chemical business, dont have any idea abt niche market of Pharmaceuticals.
