When you make a group on Facebook, how do you update the group's status?

I made a group on Facebook, and I wanted to know how I can update the status of the group so that it shows up in the News Feed like the group is saying it. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks!

hey,
i had this problem before, and you cant do it on a group
you have to make a page for it, http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php create the page and then people become fans of it, you can then update that pages status and it will show up on all of the fans homepage's.
