Any advice before joining Twitter?
I'm thinking of joining Twitter someday. But it's a social networking site and it's my first time doing it so I need advice before I join Twitter. Can you give good advice about Twitter before I join?
@michaelm928 How am I supposed to do what you just said?

Stay away from sexual predators... Other than that stay friendly without exposing to much of your self and try meeting new people...

Just remember Twitter is all about having a conversation. Don't just post random things, do talk to people, include links people might find interesting.

There are a huge range of sites and apps now where you can find groups to join that might interest you. Twellow, Twibes etc.

A few accounts to follow to start you off might be something like local BBC news, NME if you're in to music, local DJs, the bands you like, sports people you like, then search for accounts containing the name of your hometown and follow them too.

Stay quiet for a while if you like, and just read what other people say. Then if you're interesting, people will follow you too.
