Facebook help needed for a new user?
I don't have a Facebook account and have ever had one, however my oldest son is turning 13 next week and he definitely wants to start using Facebook as soon as he can. I have been strict about it until he's 13. Once he has his own account I'd like to make sure I'm on there too as one of his friends, not to pry into his stuff but just to keep half an eye. He's a fairly naiive 13yr old in some ways and has had problems with bullying in the past.

So I'm really looking for any tips from more experienced Facebook users and parents as to things I might need to know, such as privacy settings, etc. I'm not an interfering mum, just want to keep my kids safe online.

Hi, I have found a Facebook page by a user who explains how to monitor your child on Facebook correctly. I have attached the link below. All the best.

I agree there are dangers with Facebook. Even though I am of advanced years (!) I do not have any social media accounts. That's the only way to be sure of not falling into/for anything.
I know this isn't helpful but it's the only advice I can give!!!
