or as my computer and yahoo account hacked into. Can someone please let me know. I have had no luck getting a live person to speak with at Yahoo, or provide a good telephone number.

The Latest: Try checking the Yahoo Facebook page:

A number of Yahoo Mail users abruptly lost access to their email on Monday night. Two days later, the outage is still ongoing, and customers are growing extremely frustrated with the extended downtime. The company has acknowledged the issue on Twitter, and now SVP of communications products Jeff Bonforte has issued an apology at Yahoo's official blog. The outage stems from a problem in one of Yahoo's mail data centers, Bonforte says, though he doesn't offer any other details on what went wrong. "The issue has been harder to fix than we originally expected," he concedes. "We have dozens of people working around the clock to bring it to a resolution." Yahoo now estimates that it will restore inbox access for all affected users by 3PM PT (6PM ET) today.

The great Yahoo Mail outage entered its third day on Thursday after hardware issues in one of Yahoo's data centers knocked out mail service for many users on Monday night. The Mail problems are ironed out for most people, but anyone who accesses their email with a third-party desktop or mobile app may still have issues.
In an update sent out late Wednesday, Yahoo said it has restored POP mail access for all affected users that access their mail using a third-party client. The company was still working on restoring IMAP service, which (like POP) allows you to retrieve mail with a third-party program. As of 11:00 a.m. ET, the company has not yet said whether IMAP was completely restored.
For anyone who uses IMAP to get at their Yahoo Mail, the company is advising users to access their mail through the Yahoo Mail app for Android or iOS, or on the web.

Yahoo Mail posted this on Facebook Tuesday morning:

"As we posted last week, Yahoo takes security very seriously and is working to protect your inbox. We're shutting down non-SSL access to Yahoo Mail via POP and SMTP starting today.

To prepare for this change, or if you're having network connection issues, we encourage you to check your device's settings and enable SSL connections so you can continue to access Yahoo Mail: http://yhoo.it/1izMz5F"0

It's a scam, period .You didn’t enter a lottery, and YAHOO isn’t running a lottery. All you are going to win is an empty bank account and more trouble than you ever dreamed of. Possibly a “courier” bill for a few thousand to “deliver” a “prize” you’ll never see.g. If you want to bother, forward the fraudulent email to phishing@cc.yahoo-inc.com, spam@uce.gov, and 419.fcd@usss.treas.gov.

Unfortunately, this is NOT the Yahoo Service Center, so no on here can do that for you.

Hi, Try a different Internet Browser or You need to contact Yahoo by Email.

This can be done by clicking on HELP at the Bottom Right Hand side of the Yahoo Home Page under Horoscopes.

Click on Yahoo Mail, or whatever one is best for you, you can also click on the arrows for more options, or type your problem in the Search Help box.

Go to the Right hand side of page and click on Contact Customer Care.

Click on Category, page will reload for you to click on Sub Category.
Make sure you fill in Brief Details of what has Happened, click Enter.

Depending on the Category you select and the Sub Category you also select you should then see at the Bottom of the Page for more help Click on EMAIL A SUPPORT AGENT. You may have to click on different ones and try variations.

There will then be a Form to fill in. Fill in the form with as much information as you can remember about your security details and your account.

Yahoo will then contact you at a Different Email Address that you need to give them. This email address CANNOT be a yahoo email one.

You need to give them a Different Email Address, it could be one that you already have or you will need to Create a New One, Google, Hotmail, etc. You do this by clicking on Email and then click on Register and follow the instructions.

They only need this other email address to give you instructions regarding your Yahoo Account.

When they send you an email, make sure you check the Trash and Spam boxes as well as the usual Inbox as sometimes the email can end up in there.

You will be asked to create a New Password, Best to have one that is very hard to guess for anyone else trying to access your Yahoo Account.

I Would Also Strongly advise that you register your Mobile Number/Cell Phone number with Yahoo, Account Settings, that way if your account is hacked a message should come up and they can send a code to your phone for you to then unlock your email account.

Good Luck
Claire
