How to encourage Facebook fans to post something on the Page wall?

Let say you already have a Facebook Page/Group. If you're not representing any company, product, service or person, and you have no budget or incentives to hold a contest, how do you increase fan-generated content?
Note that I mean how to increase fan-generated content, not total fan base. Some pages have many fans but none or little posts by fans.

I had to do the same thing, i made a separate account, then added people from social networks such as mafia wars of farm ville, then invite them all. once you get allot of fans, your page gets more publicity and more people join! that's what i did and i got hundreds of fans

if i were you id give people a reason to visit the page, people want something creative or funny or anything to grab there attention so they can be pulled to your page to see what its all about. If you need the name sent out have friends help out by putting your page in the headlines to draw more people to the page.

try posting a funny or creative status they're all over the internet.

keep you page active as well do sometihng on it every week so people have something to look forward to.
