Non-friends on Facebook aren't getting my messages?

I've been sending a couple messages to people I know, but aren't added as friends on Facebook. However, I don't know if they even received them because I tested sending messages to other accounts I own to test out features on Facebook, only one of the accounts got the message, and the other didn't. I was really confused why. The account sending the messages is brand new, and has no friends. So I sent a message to two other accounts but only one got a message. Is this an error or will the message ever show up? The messages I sent out to the non-friends are very important so I need to know ASAP.

Someone at college who i'm not facebook friends with sent me a message and I never received it on the facebook.com site. But, when I signed in to facebook mobile on my phone, I noticed I could read it on that.

If you have a mobile which allows you to use the internet, go to m.facebook.com (facebook's mobile website), sign in there and send the messages from there.

If not, then if you know their email addresses, email them instead. Sometimes on facebook, you can view a user's email even if you're not friends with them. Just go to their info page. Even if it's a @facebook.com email address which facebook seems to be rolling out, you can still send emails to those addresses from an email provider such as Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo! etc...

I think everyone has troubles with the facebook messaging/chat system. It's rubbish since they updated it all!
