When people say that you can't and that you can only deactivate them, they are wrong.
Login and go to: https://www.facebook.com/help/contact.ph...te_account Ads |

You must deactivate it and in 2 weeks it will delete itself. You can go to settings and at the bottom of the screen there is a button

Go to this page here:
https://www.facebook.com/help/contact.ph...te_account and once you click the button, i believe there is a 1-3 month period before your account is actually deleted this is because most people who delete their account go back to it in 1 month or so So you'll have to wait for it to be "truly" deleted |

Contrary to the above, deactivating does NOT delete your facebook account, but rather that just allows you to temporarily hide your profile which you can then reactivate at a later date, simply by logging in.
If you wish to delete your facebook account entirely, here is the link to do so: https://www.facebook.com/help/contact.ph...te_account And here is a video showing you how to do it, and explaining the difference between deactivating and deleting. It shows both how to delete and how to deactivate your account: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcCy_lpfdL4 |
