What is your reaction to this religious statement?

What is your reaction to this religious statement?
I went on twitter to check see how people are doing yesterday, and this one person (no names shall be mentioned) made the following post on his twitter account:

"The only people that are truly lost, are the people who haven't found Jesus."

Yikes!!! When I saw that, my soul "literally" cringed and shook inside of me, while my mind was going "huh???" Something deep inside of me told me that this statement, face value, is terrible, ESPECIALLY from a spiritual perspective. Others who I showed it to just shook thier heads at how can anyone make such a statement (many of them are Christians themselves).

Now, I understand that people have the right to believe what they want to believe and say what they want, but at the same time, one should be careful in what they say, especially with regards to their relationship (i.e. thier faith) in God, which is a private matter.

My question therefore is two-fold:
1) How would you react to such a statement?
2) What would you say to that person who makes such a statement?
Think of this also in terms of the "true" teachings of Christianity and of Jesus Christ, and from the point of view of those of other religions when you answer this question.
@ PROBLEM: This is not offensive, but just really rattled me inside, as it would be to other Christians and those of other religions. I bet you even Jesus Christ would not endorse such a statement, if he was asked. Thanks for your answer.
@JoeN: That is a great response - it would befuddle the person and even confuse to the point of making him think "why did I even make such a statement?". Good stuff, by the way with the video.
@Nicole: Yes. Jesus Christ taught LOVE, and that means tolerance, even to those who are different from you in various ways.

The same person also made a statement about "People who call themselves Christan are not" (paraphrasing). He claims to be Christian and to love Jesus, but then why is he making such statements, even with respect to his fellow Christians?

Well, lol, my initial reaction was to laugh.

Being of strong christian faith as I am. I firmly believe that you must have a personal relationship with God. Religionn is a fear based method to keep people in check with out doing any real work of their own. I do not have aReligionn, I have a relationship.

I laugh because this person obviously has no idea what Jesus stands for if they are making such a statement. Jesus frowns on negativity and fear.

This person is speaking to themselves. From a phycological stand point this person feels lost themselves, and has no idea what to do but to lean random thoughtless verbage.

I think this individual should be ashamed of themselves. If they're initial intent was to bring peopel closer to Jesus than they should know that fear is not the way to do that.

I would explain to him that jesus never existed and he was in need of professional mental health help.

1) With disdain for the unsupportable nonsense that it is, and pity for the irrational, ignorant person who believes it.
2) Nothing. They can say whatever they want, no matter how ridiculous it is. I'd only say something if they tried to force others to accept it, take away the civil rights of those who don't accept it, or try to teach it as "fact" in public schools -- then I care. Otherwise, I don't.

Peace.

1 - this statement is par for the course for religious people to make, so it gets nothing more than an eye-roll.

2 - "Are you advocating a "lost and found" view towards life? Really?"

Absolutely true.........and as for the TEACHINGS OF JESUS, look at what He, Himself said:

John 8:24 (

24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”

He absolutely WOULD endorse that statement.

Luke 13:3-5

3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”

When someone's eternity is on the line......the most LOVING and HONEST thing one can do is to tell them the TRUTH they need to hear, so that they can be saved and spend eternity in Heaven....IF that is what they want.... but unless they KNOW the TRUTH from the Word of God, they can't make the CHOICE to believe on Jesus as their Savior.

God did NOT send His Son to suffer and die as He did to be "one of many ways" to Heaven. He sent
His Son down here from Heaven because there WAS no other way of salvation or hope for fallen mankind.....

The world (nonbelievers) wants a "warm and fuzzy" Jesus to just tell them what they like to hear, but
Hell is not a "warm and fuzzy" place and Jesus KNEW that it was His Sacrifice that would mean the
difference between Heaven and Hell for each and every one of us...........Do you think that He would have gone through ALL that He did in order save us if there WAS no Hell to be saved from. The very fact that Jesus CAME down here to die for us is the PROOF that Hell IS real and that God doesn't want anyone to go there......Do you think Jesus, Who IS God -- the second Person of the TRINITY is NOT going to tell us the TRUTH that we need to hear, for the fear of "offending" someone. Jesus did NOT suffer and die as He did in the name of Religion or POLITICAL CORRECTNESS. He laid His life down and endured the JUDGMENT OF GOD for OUR sins.....so that we might go free. He BECAME sin for us...........For that brief time on the cross, God saw His OWN Son as everything that WE are, because of sin, and He had to turn away from Him for the first time in all eternity. That had to be so incredibly UNBEARABLE for both God the Father and for His Son..... BUT THEY DID IT FOR ** U S ** that we could have the CHOICE to receive His mercy and grace that cost MORE than ANY of us will ever begin to know.............

1. I totally agree. It's true. Without the grace and mercy of God in His Son, we would ALL be hope- lessly lost and condemned to eternal judgement in Hell......because of what Adam did.

2. ABSOLUTELY TRUE!!! AMEN!!! :-) See John 8:24; John 3:36; Matt. 7:21; Matt. 7:13; Acts 4:12

Acts 4:12 (New King James Version)

12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

John 3:36 (New King James Version)

36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

John 3:18-21 (New King James Version)

18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

Galatians 1:8-10

8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ

What would you say to a doctor who didn't tell someone that YOU love that they had cancer, for fear of "offending" them and didn't let them know what they could do to save their life??? What if you had a serious, life-threatening disease.....Would you at least want to know the TRUTH, so you could
make your OWN CHOICE about what happened to you????

The world/society is DANGEROUSLY INFECTED with P.C. lies and "niceties" and hypocrisies. Telling someone THE TRUTH is showing RESPECT to them, saying that you KNOW they can handle it.....instead of coddling them to DEATH (and even HELL when it comes to eternity) with p.c. lies and cowardice.... Would you want someone to insult you by NOT telling you the TRUTH that you need to hear because they think you're not smart enough or strong enough to HANDLE IT?????
