Is it normal to be so upset over a non close friend's death?
One of my friends died in a car accident a month ago. We were never close, by any means, and if he were here, I'm not sure he'd consider me a friend. We grew up through school together, and he moved a couple years ago but we were friends on facebook and I realized how much of a kid loving person he really was deep down. He rode bulls, and helped kids, he carved totems with his chain saw, and drew deer with charcoal.. Smile

Since his death, I've cried at every post on his wall, and when I see his profile in my faebook feed, I just lose it. I have cried so much about his dying, I'm sure he'd think it was strange if he knew. When I start crying, I think to myself: "No.. nonono, he can't be gone."

Do you think it's just because he was such an amazing person, or maybe that I have a hard time accepting that this kid who was there all these years suddenly, isn't? None of my other friends seem to be as affected by it as I am, aside from those who were close with him, of course.

I would just like to get some input, you don't have to have a definitive answer. I'd really appreciate any input on the subject.
Kind, loving* Haha

I believe that yes it is completely normal to be upset. Death is a sad thing no matter who it is. I find I often cry and think over things that have happened in the news. I would also recommend talking to a counsellor at school or the hospital at least once as they can often help you sort out your feeling within an hour.

I don't think you're weird for getting upset over the death of him.
I think most people would be upset. I know I would. It may not bother your friends as much because you may be more sensitive than they are. It's okay to be upset. That just shows that you're a sweet person.
Don't be afraid to cry. The best thing is to let your emotions out and not hold them in. Death is probably one of the hardest things to grasp and deal with. So just know that this guy is in heaven now and he's well and happy and safe. Smile
