How do I delete this facebook account?

My mom made a facebook account a while back, and she recently made a new account. She doesn't remember the password to the old account, and the email address that was used for that account has been deleted, so she cannot receive the email to change the password. Is there any way to access/delete the old account?

You will need to get in touch with Facebook.
I believe if the account is inactive for a certain time, and you can prove who you are they will sort this for you.

you cannot delete the old account if you cannot log in, because if that was possible, anyone could delete anyones account. If you do get on, you go to Account Settings and you can close your facebook account.

Contact facebook but you will have to proove that its yours!
