why is Android such a battery hog?
i am charging my phone multiple times per day. overnight i use a battery saver app and still it loses 30% by morning
this is the same with all of the android devices i have had my wife's iPhone does not do that and she uses it more what gives? Ads |

Make sure to have the latest update. I've read about some models doing that before the firmware update.

It isn't Android, it is all the crap running in the background that you may not even know is running.
Got Facebook on that phone? It runs all the time, and constantly checks for new posts. There are probably a dozen more things running and doing the same thing. Got GPS? Turn it off if you don't need it. GPS is a battery hog all by itself. Programs like Facebook will use the GPS if it is on to get your exact location. Even if it doesn't move for 12 hours, it will check and make sure. Wifi? Bluetooth? Turn them off if you aren't using them. The latest versions of Android are supposed to give you better control of background programs running without your intervention. Check you app settings and make sure you shut off or disable anything that you don't actually need to be running. |
