do people only follow hot people on twitter?

I got about one follower every day when I put up a pic of my body. Now that I put up a pic of my face I noticed I'm not getting new followers and when I make a comment on a tweet the conversation just stops there. Only 9 people follow me, most of them just people looking for more followers, two unfollowed me and I suspect later more will. Should I deactivate my account, am I making a fool of myself? But I like following news and celebrities on Twitter, so I don't really want to deactivate.

my god...is this what your world has come down to...I say this in a kind way....you need to get out there and find something you like about yourself...and people who like you for who you are...life is to short.to worry about weather or not your "hot or not".the world is a mess ...don't get caught up in it...find something that makes you happy...and be happy
