Is there a way to get google play on an older andriod phone?
My phone is an andriod but its older and doesn't have google play just the andriod market which doesn't have Kik or instagram or a lot of my favorite apps. Is there a way to upgrade it to google play? this is my phone:

Oh, TOTALLY!
you have to update your phone!
Its really easy, and I had the same problem as you Tongue I didnt even know how to update my HTC Inspire, but you have to go to settings, and go to system updates -then update your phone. Its really simple, and it will automatically replace android market with google play and your apps and everything will still be there! Smile

Unfortunately, you won't be able to get the Google Play Store on that phone (since you require Android 2.2 Froyo while the Hero's last update was to Android 2.1 Eclair). The only way that you can get it is through rooting to get a better ROM.

Go to the legacy device forums in the XDA-Developers forums and look for your phone (since it's most likely no longer in development). Hope this helped.

Well,There's a way,possible.
The method is used to flash(install) on such custom ROM(android operating system) which do not have google play pre-installed.
here's the link to the zip - https://www.dropbox.com/s/5th5wg4ajcx16z..._Store.apk
just download it,do not unzip it,just copy as it is in your memorycard.
and also you need to have clockworkmod recovery on your phone,if not,you can do it by searching it on XDA forums.
You need to "apply update from zip" in your phone.
the boot screen would be bit similar to the images in here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Clo...d_Recovery
just go search for your phone, then how to get to the boot screen on your phone, and then "apply update zip " the play store zip by navigating to your memory card.
