Ann Coulter is a perfect example of Oscar Wilde's saying that the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about. If she popped up on television and in the media now and again and spoke reasonably albeit from a conservative perspective she'd disappear without trace.

Then again the righties do like their media spokesmen and women to exhibit a bit of irrational nuttiness. Think Michelle Bachman, Pat Robertson, Sarah Palin and all the other Fox News talking heads. She's almost normal compared to that lot.

No, she is a repulsive individual, but not all conservatives are that bad. The problem is rational conservatives will not denounce her for fear of angering the money men behind her - the same money men behind Cruz, Santorum, Walker, Scott and Perry.

No she is not a typical conservative.

Most conservatives (and liberals) are good honest hard working people who just want to make things better. While they may disagree about how to do it, most are rational and reasonable and realize that no solution is perfect and that compromise may be necessary.

She is, however, a typical conservative media personality. Over the top, loud, and willing to make a spectacle of herself. She'd rather shout at you that you're wrong than try to solve a problem and there is never any compromise. They'll take a stance on one issue that is completely opposite of a stance they took for another issue regardless of how hypocritical it may be, as long as it's in opposition to what they other guy wants.

This is not just a conservative issue either. Liberals have the same types of media people (it's been shown to be effective) so neither side is innocent. The people it hurts the most are the average Americans who might agree with a minor part of a talking point, but don't like the rest of the garbage flowing from the mouths of these fools.
