Where did Facebook get it's popularity from?

Well when facebook was created more and more people started using the "internet" and facebook was one of the very few social networking sites. More people used it and people started investing in it and it became popular today.

i Suggest you Watch the Social networking movie it will really explain it all but anyways Facebook gets its popularity from Advertisements thats how all of the websites make there money and keep there service free
