Facebook - 'Promote group with an ad'?

What does this do? I can't do it at the minute because my anti-virus software has blocked it. But i would like to know whether this suggests this group to friends, for example whe you go on Home on Facebook, sometimes in the top right hand corner of the screen, it suggests friends and groups. Will my group have this done automatically or is this what the 'promote group with an ad'

I know i haven't exactly worded this question very well, but if anybody could just tell me what this does, i would really appreciate it. What's the best way to promote my group? I see some group with hundreds of thousands of fans and thats ultimately what i would like! LOL

it simply puts yr group on advertisements probably at the side of facebook pages..when ppl see it they might join it.

yes, you have to pay for the advertisements, if you ask me its not worth it. you have to pay for each persoon who joins? if you ask me its not worth it.

if you wanted some advice i would start a more diversed group. the one you created is to similar to so many groups already created. i wish you luck though.

we tried silent promotion, by posting the link to the group on several websites and stuff like that. try word of mouth, i went to six flags and got a few people to join, also i spread the word on xbox live.

you cant get as many members but its free!
