are the 6 friends shown on facebook timeline chosen randomly?

you know that sample box of friends on facebook timeline that always displays 6 friends...well i was wondering if its done based on the people you interact with most, the people who visit your profile most or the people whose profile's you visit most, or if its just random. Cuz everytime for me its usually all my best friends that appear, but a frequent appearence in that box is my crush, we have had literally no interactions on facebook, but i do tend to stalk his profile quite often. I notice i appear in his friend box as well, so i got a glimmer of hope that maybe that means he visits my profile often? Not sure...what do you think?

yes its random i dont think there is a way to know how many times your or his profile was viewed by you or him.

it's the people who view your profile the most. trust me I got this from a person who WORKS with facebook and It is pretty obvious considering on mine it's the person who stalks me, my bestfriend, this weirdo who has a MAJOR crush on me and I don't like him, my nosy mother and my nosy cousin.

I don't think it's completely random, because it's always the same 20 or so people who I see on mine. I think it has something to do with interactions and profile/picture views. But sometimes I'm like "wtf, why is that person on there?"

Right now I have:
- this girl who I like/comment her stuff a lot
- this guy who we like each other's stuff sometimes
- this Jesusfreak girl who I hardly interact with, but I was viewing her profile a lot over some time I think becuase I was curious about her life haha.
- my boyfriend's step sister. I don't interact often, but I looked at her grad pics.
- a guy who I never interact/view
- a guy who I've only interacted with a couple times on fb.
- my brother who I've only interacted with a couple times on fb.
- my best friend who I always interact with
