How to get more twitter followers?

So i've just created a twitter account for the first time cause I wanted to follow some kpop celebrities... (especially Super Junior and DBSK/JYJ)

anyways, as I came from the tumblr world, i've mainly tweeted quotes on my twitter (cause my tumblr was a quote one...)

and i still don't really get how to use it, but I've tried following people who said they'll follow back... and they follow back, but then unfollow like, 10 minutes later. so is there a better way to get more twitter followers?? and i don't want to use money or anything, but i just want to get my twitter known... is there any way to do that??

I follow those other people that said they follow back!!! They don't think you'll know if they unfollow... So unfollow them

Post your twitter on your tumblr, Facebook... See if any of your friends have then because then they would obviously follow you back
If you find 1 person you know.. Look at who they follow. Or who follows them and you will see a bunch of people from where you live
(at least its like that where I live)
Don't only look for people that say they follow back
It looks weird if you are following 107 and only have 4 followers
It takes time

Well, to be honest, I've taken a look at your twitter and I think you should lessen the amount of quotes you tweet. Twitter is mainly about YOU, so tweet about what you are doing, e.g. I'm eating instant noodles right now and I've never eaten it before. A lot of people complain that tweeting about what you are doing is boring and they hate people who they follow who tweet about that kind of stuff, but that's what twitter is SUPPOSED to be all about. Obviously you don't have to tweet about what you are doing in every tweet, but it's just a starting ground. Include quotes here and there, write about your thoughts on things e.g. kpop.

Many people follow based on tweets, particularly those people who have more followers than following. Then there are also those kinds of people who follow for follow, but later unfollow. It gets quite annoying. As suggested, follow all the people who do follow for follows, and wait a bit to unfollow them. But it does make your follower count go up and down dramatically.

Since you are into kpop, follow people who are interested in the same thing. Then make conversations surrounding that topic of kpop, e.g. have you heard this new song? etc. This helps you to get noticed, but also to make friends around the internet. I've found this is the easiest way.

I think an excellent way to get more Twitter followers is to pay a visit to a site that will get you as many Twitter followers as you need.

You say you don't want to use money, but this is cheap.

You have to first sign up for an account.

Then enter into their search box "Twitter Followers" and it will return a bunch of listings of people who can help you.

If you decide to go with it, make sure to check out the user ID of the person to ensure they have sterling positive feedback from previous users. I always look for people who have 100% reviews.

Are you trying to be a quote Twitter? If so, you could try and "affiliate" with other quote accounts. https://twitter.com/#!/iheartquotes is one of the most popular ones. You could try finding less than popular ones by Googling "quote twitter accounts" and ask them if they will RT a few of your quotes and in return, you'll do the same. That will help you build some hype.

I would just recommend being a regular account though. One of my friends owns a quote account and although they have over 40,000 followers, she told me a few times how hectic it is trying to find new and interesting quotes all the time. If you steal a quote from another Twitter account, you'll get accused of "stealing" it and it just starts a lot of drama.

One of the things that people don't understand is that Twitter is a great way to meet people who have the same interests as you. I assume you like k-pop so try and look around to find people that tweet the same thing as you. Go to the search bar at the top and type in your favorite artist; you'll find a lot of people tweeting about them at once (or that particular keyword). Tweet one of them and let the conversation begin!
