facebook help please?

Im a tad confused . on my iphone if I go into the chat part to see whos online to talk to , sometimes or most of the time next to the persons name theres a mobile sign and a '5m' or '2hr' but the green dot isn't there?? so if when they log into facebook from web or phone if you see a green dot by their name is that just they are online and scrolling facebook ? or just the chat??..and what does it mean when the 5m ago is not there just the phone sign? thanks

it means that they have been on facebook 5m ago. or it just means that they had logged out of facebook 5m ago.

that means the last time they were actually active on facebook was 5 minutes ago, but they left the app running

I'll admit I'm not too sure myself, but I've always interpreted the green dot as the person being online and the number of minutes/hours being when they last accessed Facebook through their phone. I would guess the phone symbol simply means they have Facebook for their mobile and that it was the last device they signed in on (as opposed to a web browser).

That's my best guess I'm afraid!
