How do I know if someone mentioned me on twitter?

I was on twitter and I looked at my friend's page and saw that she mentioned me and I wasn't notified. I checked my e-mail and I didn't see anything saying that someone mentioned me.

When signed in on the home page click @mentions which is next to timeline

On the side it says @twittername and when they mention you in a tweet it normally pops out on ur page where all the people your following update themselves or that @ area tends to have a little notifying thing pop out on it, but if you have a BLACKBERRY and download the Twitter App, your phone vibrates and then the @ area has a red number. Its pretty kool

On the right hand side there is "@yourtwittername" and click on that and it will show people who mentioned you.

IF you're on the NEWER version of twitter . Next to the Timeline it says @Mentions.

Just look on the sidebox to the right and it will show - @yourtwittername.
Or you could just go to http://twitter.com/replies
