How to delete my Facebook Account?

I recently read the artical that Facebook users will have to start using Facebook Timeline, (it will become mandatory in less than a week.) I can't find anything that will help me deactivate my facebook account. Please help!

No big deal using time line but to deactivate or cancel the account go to your account settings page and at bottom you should find the link to cancel you Facebook account.

Go to the little arrow beside your name (where you usually go to log out) and press "account settings" this will take you to another page and then on the left hand side there are a list of options press " security settings" and this will again open up another page and then scroll all the way don and there it says "deactivate my account"

To deactivate your account:
Click the account menu at the top right of any Facebook page
Choose Account Settings
Select Security from the left-hand menu
Click on "Deactivate your account"
