Are the people who friend you on Facebook are they ready your friends?

I have seen some people who have up to 1000 friends. My question is how many of those friends are really your friends or care about what you say or your pictures?

Most of my friends on facebook are either actual friends (people I really know) or family members. I also have several people who are on-line friends that I met (virtually) on other forums, mostly stripgenerator. There are only one or two people that I don't know from somewhere else and they are friends of friend whom I have spoken to repeatedly on facebook. So, no random strangers on my friends list.

Get off of Facebook and see how many of those so-called friends remember your birthday or even try to contact you. Chances are they will assume you don't want to be their friend and get mad at you for unfriending them because their life revolves around Facebook.
I've got a friend that has over 2k friends on Facebook; recently, while hanging out at a buddie's house we had a confrontation with the next door neighbor. We had to call the police to get involved, and after all of that we find out that the next door neighbor is friends on Facebook with one of our friends we were with that night... he had no idea.

People who have over 500+ friends tend to just add anyone that is friends with their friends.

I assume you mean really non there internet friends a complete different thing if they help you never ask for anything and are kind they could possibly be a friend but only if you trust them.
