If the facebook webpage is blocked, would the app still work?

I use facebook too much and my dad found out (cause he's a programmer, so he can use the computer really well), he blocked "www.facebook.com" on my computer. I'm currently using Windows 8.1 and there is an facebook app on my computer. Around the time that my dad blocked facebook, the app also stopped working, so I'm wondering if it's a coincidence or is it because my dad blocked facebook?

its because he blocked it, the app uses the same IP to the same website.

i'm a programmer too, and if your dad used a firewall block on the router, that will block it on your computer and the wifi on your phone, if that's what you are asking

but it wouldnt block the 3G or 4G data plan on your phone

try it at a library or coffee shop, where your dad's firewall has no effect
