Is it possible to put a password when logging off?
Is it possible to put a password when someone is logging off on Windows 7?

I want to put a password to keep someone from logging out my account when I'm doing important works. One of my family members keep logging me out just to go on their facebook even though I specifically told them not to log me out when I'm away from keyboard. I even placed signs, telling them not to log it off but they keep doing that and it really irritates me because I have a lot of projects near their deadline.

Is there any way to put up a password that will pop up when someone logs off my account from windows 7?

No and yes.

There is no way to prevent them from logging you off. The only thing you can do is to log the computer so that they can not access it. Before you walk away from the computer, hold down the Window key and press "L". That will lock so the computer so that no one can access (or log you off) unless they know your password.

Instead they will be presented with a "Switch User" option. This will allow them to log on to the computer with their own ID and run their own session of Windows without logging you off.

When they finish using the computer, they simply log off (not restart or shut down) and the computer will return to the log in screen for you session. Enter your password and you pick up right where you were without having to restart or reload anything.

If they leave the computer logged on as them, you have an option in the "Shut Down" to "Switch users" which will allow you to return to your session without having to log them off.

While it is not a password to block them from logging you off, it is a way for multiple users to use the some computer without having to log each other off.

Short answer: no. You could:

1. Make sure your screen is locked when you step away. Go to Task Manager and select Lock this Computer. You need to use your password to log in again.

2. If they are nice enough, just have them use Switch Users. Go to Start and to the right of the Shut Down is a drop down menu. One of the items is Switch User. That keeps all of your stuff active while they are doing stuff and when you return you just log them off (same drop down menu) and log in again.

All of this assumes that you have a password to log on to your user name. If you don't you can go to Control Panel>Users and find your user name and create one.
