How to delete your Facebook account?

With all the new timeline crap, I'm not sure how to delete a Facebook account anymore. Could somebody tell me step by step how to delete it? I'm lost. Thanks!

Settings > Security (on the left) >
on the bottom of everything there should be a blue link that says deactivate my account.
From there, you should know what to do. It's pretty self explanatory.

DEACTIVATE OR TURN OFF YOUR ACCOUNT FOR AS LONG AS YOU WANT
when u deactivate ur profile (timeline) and all of the info associated with it disappears from facebook immediately , However this info is saved just in case u want to come back

To deactivate ur account

smart phones:
1. Tap photo (top left of any page)
2. Scroll to the bottom of the menu
3. Tap account >account settings
4. Select deactivate( at the bottom of the screen)

other phones
1. Click settings(bottom of every page)
2. Find the account section
3. Click deactivate

"You can only deactivate your account" <--- that's not true. Go to the help center, ask "How do I delete my account?" click on the question. Fill out the form (password and those codes like for example Hello. Person ) and don't log in for 13 days and after that... BAM!! It's gone for good. You can't reactivate it.
