I have put mine up on facebook. I only add people that I know personally. And I don't add to here or any other site besides facebook.
If you monitor your friends on facebook its safe. There are special settings (see article below) where you can only have certain friends see certain posts or pictures. If you don't feel safe having all your friends, you can make it so that only your true best friends or family can see it.
I hope the article below helps.

Nope. I had a Facebook, but I deleted it because it sucked.
Hell no. Everybody can read everything you write and they know who you are. :\ Big mistake on my part.

Yes, tbh i don't really care what happens to them. I'm pretty sure no one's going to steal my pictures and pretend to be me, and there's no revealing ones on there. It's not safe at all right click and save and someone else has your picture, anywhere you can post pictures online is not safe, but life without risk is boring. I had one guy steal my pictures once and post them all over his website i just sent him a few emails and they were removed within a day. I don't think facebook is safe at all, there are options to make your things private so only certain friends can see them, but then you'd have to trust everyone completely. I know people on facebook who make all thier pictures private then my other friend, is pretending to like her goes on her facebook and takes her pictures which are meant to be private and sends them around.

Facebook is as safe as you make it. When you've got people who put up their mobile phone numbers and all sorts, it's just silly.

I do put pictures up - mostly holiday snaps so people can see those at their leisure - but I also have my settings to private.

Regardless of whether or not Facebook or any other site is safe, I don't put pictures up that I wouldn't be willing to let just anyone see.

Private pictures - those don't get posted online.
