Please help! My boyfriend is being very distant, and I don't know what I should do?

My boyfriend and I have been together almost a year now. My boyfriend is moody, and (I think) mildly depressed. Sometimes, he will go through "something" and disappear for a day or two and then apologize and come back and make up to me and everything is fine. I say he may be depressed because he is 22, with a crappy part time job, only an associate's degree, and constantly feels like a big loser.

He is not a player, liar, or cheater. He's cried over me, and always been a good boyfriend doing what he can for me. We did break up back in June, he did it over a text and then 4 days later came back and apologized up and down. So I mean he did it once, you'd think he'd do it again if he wanted to? I'm always here for him, and I always try to help him in any way I can, we spend lots of time together and we are best friends as well as lovers.

But this time, I don't know what to do. We haven't seen each other in 2 weeks, he as not spoke to me in 4-5 days, and when I've said like "I love you, I want us to go back to normal, please decide what you want and stop putting me through this, blah blah blah." He's still following me on social media, and we're still in a relationship on Facebook, and he has not sent me any kind of text saying "it's over, we're done, I've lost feelings" nothing like that (yet at least). And I've been crying nonstop, not knowing what to do.

I can't figure out if he wants to break-up, or if he's going through something and just wants space, or if we're "on a break". He turns 22 on Monday so I'm wondering if he's having like a "mid life crisis" or something. I want to help him, but I've reached out enough and I don't want to chase him and bug him.

He has always told me he'd never leave me, and that if we were to break up, whoever wanted it should do it in person and be respectful. We just had such a nice Christmas and he even invited me to eat dinner with his family. I go back to school Monday, and it's only community college it's not like I'm going away or anything but I want this resolved by then.

I'm so torn, I don't know what to do. Any advice? Please

He seems to have an anger disorder. I think he is depressed and bipolar. My sister has a bf like that
