Question About Mobile Gaming Engines?
I want to make a mobile game and would like it to be available for both iOS and Android. Are there any 3D capable engines I could use that would work for both systems? I'm extremely new to coding and would appreciate any help.

Sadly not really.. That's the issue that everyone is always complaining about. Because iPhones have their single device with its own setting, and then Android is entirely different and the apps have to made to accommodate hundreds of thousands of phones with different hardware.
There was something that i saw where someone had designed a codec that you could put the iphone codes in and it would run in sort of a VM/Emulator flawlessly on Android, but I cannot find it. You can try a game engine, idk of any free ones but heres something that might get you started. Good luck on your game. I hope you make millions http://gamesalad.com/ like i said, idk of any free ones. so dont you be a pirate now. im kidding. no one cares EDIT: I lied... I think I found it. http://www.apportable.com/. Go for it! Again best of luck! I'll gladly pay $0.99 for your app except it just ports over the code and compiles it to the right os. i think this is what you're looking for Oh here's something you should know though because I did the same thing. I made a app for the Arizona Cardinals, and it had a live feed for games, news, injuries, twitter, facebook, all in one app. and then i went to go put it on the app stores. and the "Play Store" would hae costed about $65 for an account to be able to upload apps and the iOS app store was even more at about $190. So make sure you have the funds friend Ads |
